It was a lovely Saturday evening in Delhi when Swaraag rocked the capital with its performance at the Rotary Thanksgiving function, which went by the name Southend Stars Award Nite. It was held in Sultanpur at Zorba Entertainment Private Limited, on June 30, 2018. The event was nothing short of a caravan of sweet moments, beautifully packaged and decorated into a star-studded adventure for all present.
Swaraag is a folk-rock and Sufi fusion band, best known for their enthralling concerts across the country, who are now scaling their performances to the international level. Their renditions of ‘Padharo Mhare Des’ and ‘Saanu Ek Pal Chain Na Awe’ the most sought-after tracks among their crowd.
And what a better way to celebrate such soulful music, than a night which felicitates all those whose contributions have touched hearts. Swaraag performed at the felicitation ceremony where the Rotary baton was passed on to the new president, Rtn. Amit Chaudhry. The ceremony was lit up with Swaraag’s performance, and everybody took to their feet when they performed ‘Dama Dam Mast Kalandar.’ The song is quite special as it is, but Swaraag’s rendition of it touched a string with everyone’s hearts.
The music by Swaraag turned the night into an eventful one. As the hours passed, and the band revealed one beat after the next, the atmosphere turned lovelier and more lively than ever.
The outgoing president, Rtn. Garima Misra was completely spellbound by Swaraag’s performance, and as her last day as the Rotary president, thanked the band for making one of the most important nights of her life turn into the most memorable one. In her own words,
“The Swaraag band was absolutely fantastic, their performance was lively, fun and interactive – exactly what we were hoping for. They did a great job and got even the most reserved of us up on the dance floor. Everybody joined in – even the oldies were ‘jumping’ with the crowd. To top it all, they were all incredibly nice people. Swaraag brought our party alive. Thanks a ton. We really hope to hear Swaraag again very soon.”
With such profound words of adoration for their performance, it is evident that Swaraag clearly has a long way to go. It is a beautiful band that has left its imprint on the hearts of everyone who has ever been a part of its performances. It’s only a matter of time before Swaraag makes the whole world dance to their soulful music.
